Description
The farmbuilding range adjoining Middlemore Farmhouse dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some alterations. It is constructed of red brick, featuring some burnt headers, and has roofs made of corrugated sheet, plain tile, and slate. The building is long, likely consisting of nine bays, and is partly floored. The left end connects to the farmhouse, while the right end includes a lower stable. There is an arch leading to the rear and three doorways on the front, one of which is in a narrowed opening. A two-light casement window is located in the first floor centre left. The rear of the building has various doors, double doors, and three glazed and louvred windows on the first floor. Inside, the space is partly partitioned and floored. The roof features two tiers of butt purlins along with tie beams and collars. The stable at the right end has a stable door, with a tile roof at the front and a slate roof at the rear. This farmbuilding forms a complete steading and is part of a significant group with the farmhouse, representing an early enclosure of a midland clay parish.
