No. 56 High Street is a late 18th-century building constructed of chequered brick. It features an old tiled roof with a brick cornice. The building stands three storeys tall and has two sash windows with glazing bars, which are set under flat arches. The ground floor has a wide modern window, also under a flat arch. The entrance includes a six-panelled door framed by an early wooden surround with panelled pilasters and a small hood.
