Description
Nos 57 and 59 High Street is a large mid-18th century house that has been divided into two premises. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features Welsh slate roofs with five dormers. It stands two storeys tall with attics, and has quoins and a slightly projecting central pediment. The cornice and parapet add to its architectural detail. The façade is arranged with two, three, and two sashes that have glazing bars, with the left sash on the first floor being painted and arched. These windows are set in shallow reveals with keystones. The doorway, located to the right of the centre, features a six-fielded panelled door and a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, all within a deep reveal and surrounded by a rusticated architrave, keystone, and cornice. There is a plinth and a band at the first floor level. A modern shop front has been added to the left side of the building.
