Description
The Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre, located at Nos 81 and 83 on the east side of High Street in Great Missenden, is a building that dates back to the 17th century but was refronted in the early 19th century. The exterior is rendered and painted, topped with an old tiled roof.
The structure is two storeys high and features a carriage arch in the center, with a sash window located in the gable above. The entrance to No 81 is on the left, adorned with pilasters and a cornice. To the left of this door is a modern casement window, while to the right is a sash window. The first floor has three sash windows.
On the right side, No 83 has a plain door, with a modern window to the left and a sash window to the right. The first floor of No 83 contains two sash windows. Inside the carriage arch, timber-framing is visible. This building was formerly known as the Buckingham Arms Inn.
