Description
Pondclose House, formerly known as The Rectory, is a house that was built in 1674 and served as a rectory. The southeast front was altered in the 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features a slate roof with coped gables on the main block, while the rear wing has an old tile roof. There are two chimney stacks at the rear, each with rendered bases and six square brick shafts that are connected by an upper cornice. The house has three storeys and five bays of sash windows, with the ground floor windows on the left altered to French doors that include marginal glazing. The central entrance features a half-glazed door set beneath a wooden lintel. The rear of the house has two storeys and displays irregular wooden casements.
