Description

This garden ornament, dating from the mid-18th century, is located approximately 110 meters to the west of the Grotto and Ruin at Fawley Court. It is made of stone and features a panelled pedestal with a moulded base and cornice. Atop the pedestal are four carved scrolls adorned with lions' heads, which support a cushion draped with lion skins. Above this is a capital decorated with acanthus foliage and a pine-cone finial.
