Description
Church Cottages is a terrace of six cottages built in 1853, as indicated by the date in raised red brickwork on the front elevation. The cottages are constructed of stock brick and feature a red brick diamond set string course at the first floor level and under the eaves of the slightly higher central section. The old tile roof has decorative fishscale bands.
The cottages are two storeys high, with dormer gables on the left and right sections of the first floor, which contain six 2-light casement windows. On the ground floor, there are six restored brick entrance porches with decorated plastered gables and tiled roofs, along with six 3-light casement windows. All windows are fitted with diamond paned leaded lights, and the stone cills are set flush without arches. The cottages also have a cement rendered plinth.
