Description

Elmbank and Losuce are a row of cottages dating to the late 16th or early 17th century. The construction is timber-framed with colourwashed brick nogging, and the roof is covered in old tiles, featuring five chimneys and six gabled dormer windows. The cottages are one storey high with attics. The left-hand wing projects and contains a five-light casement window and a gabled dormer with a three-light casement, featuring leaded lights. The central gable has a diamond-panel fixed window. To the right of the central gable, the ground floor has two-light casements with leaded lights. Other windows include two-light casements with leaded lights, a one-light casement, and a three-light casement with glazing bars. Doors are wooden, with some being glazed. The group value of these cottages lies in their picturesque composition and historical significance.
