Description
The Wagon and Horses is an 18th-century public house located on the east side of High Street in Great Missenden, with a small outbuilding to the south. The building is constructed of brick, with the front elevation rendered and painted, and features an old tiled hipped roof. It has two storeys, with three 19th-century sash windows on the ground floor and a modern door positioned to the right of center. The first floor has three 3-light casements. There is a stack with offsets on the right flank wall.
The small rectangular outbuilding to the right is made of brick, has an old tiled hipped roof, and corbelled eaves, with a door on the south wall. This outbuilding is said to have served as a parish pound or lockup and was restored by the Parish Council in 1896. The public house and outbuilding are included for their group value.
