Description

Forge House is a 17th-century T-plan house located on Penn Street. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a red and grey brick wing from the 18th century at a right angle. Much of the building has been refaced in later brick. The house is two storeys high and has an old tiled roof. The windows include casements and 18th-century sash windows, all leaded, although most are modern replacements. The 18th-century wing has flat arches. There is a central stack made of old thin bricks with three attached shafts.
