Description
The gates and railings at North Lodge date from around 1880 and are made of wrought and cast iron. They feature four square gate piers that are hollow, with scrolled panels on the sides. One of the piers is mostly missing, while another displays a stag's head crest associated with the Mackenzie family. The pedestrian gates are adorned with decorative scrollwork, although the carriage gates are missing. The design includes scrolled ramps leading to cast iron railings topped with spearhead finials and scrolled buttresses.
