Description
Chenies Place is a house built between 1896 and 1897 by C.E. Kempe for Adeline Marie, the widow of the 14th Duke of Bedford. The house is two storeys high and constructed of red brick with a tiled roof featuring curved Dutch gables. It has mullion and transom windows with leaded lights. The brick chimneys have diagonally set flues. A wooden gateway with a semi-circular roof, supported by consoles, leads to the property. A partly walled front garden is present. A garden seat is set into the south elevation, positioned below a hood with dentilled detailing supported on carved modillion brackets. An attached garden room features an open colonnade at the front, with Doric columns in antis.
