Description

The Island Temple in West Wycombe Park is a Grade II* listed building, constructed between 1778 and 1780 by Nicholas Revett. It is a single-storey rectangular structure featuring a semi-circular loggia at the east end. The building is rendered in cement and has a hipped roof covered with Welsh slate. The columns and pilasters are adorned with modified Tower of the Winds capitals, supporting an entablature with a dentil cornice. The east elevation includes a central doorway, which is two-thirds glazed, flanked by a pair of sash windows, all featuring glazing bars. The west end of the building is topped with a pediment.
