Description
Hyde Farmhouse is a likely 16th-century, four-bay timber-framed building that has been encased in brick and flint, with painted rendering added in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a half-hipped tiled roof with a central brick chimney. The farmhouse stands two storeys high and has three windows, which are 2 and 3-light wooden casements. A projecting brick porch from the 19th century is located at the front. At the rear, there is a brick stair turret with a casement window that likely dates from the 17th century. The building also has a modern wing at the rear and an extension at the east end. Inside, there is good exposed framing, a 16th-century wooden doorway with a four-centre arched head on the ground floor, and an arch-braced collar truss visible on the first floor.
