Description
The Old Parsonage is a 14th-century building that has undergone various alterations, primarily in the 18th century. It is an irregular, rambling structure with two storeys and an attic. The north front features a gabled design, constructed partly of stone and partly of timber frame, with pebble dash. It has brick chimneys and an old tile roof. The end gable facing the street is half hipped and includes a three-storey 18th-century angular bay. This bay is adorned with moulded wood strings above the ground and first-floor windows, as well as a moulded cornice over the second-floor windows. The glazing has been altered. There is a six-panel door set back to the right in the second gable, accompanied by a three-pane rectangular Gothic fanlight and a doorcase with Doric pilasters and an entablature, with one window above, all dating from the late 18th century. The south front is irregular and similar to the north front, featuring a large 14th-century traceried window. Inside, the building boasts a notable 14th-century crown post roof.
