Description

The Turweston War Memorial, dedicated to the First World War, is a stone structure approximately 2.5 meters high. It features a figure of Christ crucified, which is set within a pointed gothic alcove. The memorial stands on a stone plinth that has a plaque inscribed with the words "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS,/ THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS," along with the names of six individuals. This plinth is supported by a small base with three steps.

The memorial is located in the churchyard of St Mary’s Church, which is listed as Grade II*, positioned against the east boundary of the churchyard.
