Description
Number 23, known as The Old Needle House, is an early 19th-century building located on the south-west side of Chilton Road in Long Crendon. It is two storeys high and constructed from coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings, featuring a first-floor band course and a slate roof. The façade includes two barred sash windows and a central door. To the east, there are three large stone gate piers with stepped copings and ball finials. Additionally, there is a workshop wing made of rubble stone and brick. This building was the site of the last attempt to revive the needle-making industry in Long Crendon in 1848.
