Description
Denham Film Studios, built in 1936, were designed by Walter Gropius and Maxwell Fry for Alexander Korda. The building is constructed of white painted concrete and features flat roofs. It consists of two sections. The northern end is three stories high with a seven-window range, large four-light metal windows, projecting concrete balconies with metal railings, and a projecting roof canopy. There are external stairs leading to the balconies at an angle to the setback southern section. The southern section is three stories tall, reducing to two stories. The three-story part has a seven-window range with a central entrance and a thin canopy that is canted out and supported by thin metal tubular uprights. This section extends behind a three-bay, two-story range that has nine windows, along with a projecting balcony, roof, and external stair at an angle to the three-story part.
