Description
Davenies School is an 18th-century building that was significantly extended in 1909, with the date noted on the fireplace in the hall. The structure is made of brick with a decorative timber-framing style and features an old tiled roof. It is mostly two storeys high, with some parts reaching three storeys. The design is asymmetrical, showcasing gables and hipped dormer windows in the roof, along with a covered way on the right side. All the windows are casements with leaded lights.
To the left, there is an 18th-century house that has been much altered in the mid-19th century and is now connected to the school by a 19th-century link. This house is also made of brick and has a tiled roof. It is two storeys tall, three bays wide, and one bay deep, featuring a central modern porch and two sash windows on the ground floor. The first floor has a central blank window flanked by two sash windows, with a band at the first-floor level. On the right side, there are former outhouses and stabling, which have been altered and now end in a pergola, dating back to the 18th century, and made of brick with an old tiled roof.
