Description
The Swan at Iver Public House is a 16th-century building that has been restored. It features a timber-framed structure with an old tile roof and stands two storeys high. The first floor extends over a moulded fascia board, while the ground floor is finished in colour-washed brick. The building has an L-plan layout, with the longer arm facing Swan Road and the gable end facing High Street.
On the High Street elevation, the first floor has two flush sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor includes two splayed three-light bay windows and a door set in a recess. The Swan Road elevation displays curved struts supporting the first floor's timber framing, with two two-light casements and one sash window, all featuring glazing bars. The ground floor has a splayed bay window on the right and a 19th-century brick extension that includes a carriageway and three sash windows, two of which are boarded up.
Attached to The Swan are Nos 1 and 2 Swan Road, which are a pair of 19th-century cottages. These cottages are built of brick and also have an old tile roof, standing two storeys high. The ground floor features two doors and two sash windows, while the first floor has two two-light sash windows.
