Description

Dated 1788, Borlase Cottages form a long terrace of two-storey cottages located on Chapel Street. The cottages are constructed of chequer brick, with offset eaves and an old tile roof. The design is symmetrical, with entrances arranged in pairs. Each cottage features one three-light casement window, primarily dating to the early 19th century, and a plain door. Cottages number 31 and 33 have small doorcases characterised by pilasters and thin flat hoods supported on double scroll-cut brackets. Nos 23 to 57 (odd) form a group.
