Description
The Old Police Station, now serving as a Magistrates Court, is a late 18th century building that was extended in the mid 19th century. The main house is two storeys high and features three windows, constructed from brick. It has stone quoins at the ground floor and a stone band at the first floor, with intact glazing bars. The ground floor openings have bracketed cills and keystones, while the brick cornice adds to the architectural detail. There is a porch, likely added later, which includes an arched opening with rustication, a stone cornice, and a parapet that bears the inscription "Police Station." The porch also has a rectangular transom light and a plain modern door. To the left, on the south side, there is a mid 19th century Court Room extension made of brick with a slate roof, which has the inscription "Police 1869 Court" and three windows with a black brick band.
