Description

The Old Post House is an 18th-century building of brown brick with red brick dressings, situated on the south side of London End in Beaconsfield. It has an old tile roof concealed behind a panelled parapet and a moulded brick dentil cornice. The building is two storeys high. The first floor features seven sash windows with moulded brick cills. The ground floor has a central door flanked by windows, with a timber hood supported by corbels extending over both the door and the windows. There are also five 2-light casements with traceried upper lights and another door, all with segmental heads. A lamp is positioned above the central door, affixed to a wrought iron bracket. The interior retains considerable contemporary detail, including a good staircase.
