Description
This is an outbuilding located approximately 5 metres south of Countersett Hall, likely dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has two storeys. The building features two openings on the first floor and a rear lean-to extension. It has quoins and a central board door on the ground floor, flanked by two small windows. On the first floor, there is a board door to the left and one small window. The right side has coping and a stack at the right end. The rear elevation includes a double bee-bole that is concealed by the lean-to. The right return has steps leading up to the first-floor board door, with a chimney that is corbelled out from the first floor. The left return features a two-light chamfered mullion window on the ground floor. Inside, there is a well below the slab in the floor and old roof beams that still have bark on them. This building is included for its group value with Countersett Hall.
