Description
No. 3 Main Street is a house that has been converted into shop premises, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of grey gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The facade is symmetrical, with a central half-glazed four-panel door that includes a fanlight, all set within a keyed, round-arched plain surround. To the right of the door is a large 20th-century shop window, while to the left is a former sash window that has been replaced with a 20th-century frame, both in plain surrounds. On the first floor, there are three plate-glass sash windows, also in plain surrounds. The building has stone gutter brackets, shaped kneelers, gable copings, and end stacks. At the rear, there is a central round-headed stair window in a plain surround. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
