Description

The Rectory is a 17th-century building located on the west side of The Street in South Harting. It is not the original Rectory of the parish and was formerly known as the Malt House. The house has been refaced with grey headers, red brick dressings, and quoins, and features a stringcourse. It has a tiled roof and consists of two bays on the ground floor, with casement windows above. The doorway is topped with a flat hood. The building is two storeys tall and has three windows. The south wall is constructed of stone and brick or has a stone plinth. The southwest wing, which is now part of the house, was originally the malthouse and is made of red brick and grey headers.
