Description
The Grange is an early 19th century L-shaped house located in South Harting. The building is finished in stucco and features a dentilled eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof. The central portion of the house projects slightly and is adorned with pilasters and a pediment. It has a mix of sash windows with glazing bars and casement windows. The doorway is framed by a moulded architrave and features a door with six fielded panels. The house has three storeys and three windows. The west wing includes a turret, which was added in 1846, featuring projecting quoins, segmental-headed windows, and a hipped roof. Notably, the author Anthony Trollope lived here from 1880 until his death in 1882.
