Description
The Church of St Mary is a Grade I listed building located in North Marden. This small church dates back to the 12th century and features a chancel and nave that are not divided. It has a western bell turret that is faced with weatherboarding and topped with a hipped tiled roof, along with a south porch. The church has an apsidal ended chancel, making it one of only three such buildings in Sussex. Notable architectural details include small Norman windows and a south doorway dating from around 1130 to 1140, which is adorned with zigzag mouldings. Inside, there is a late 12th-century font.
