Description

West Lodge and Entrance Gates at Lavington Park (Seaford College) were built in 1903 in the style of the 18th century for Lord Woolavington, designed by architect Detmar Blow. The lodge is faced with Roman cement and features a slate roof. It has a portico supported by four Ionic columns and retains its original windows with stone labels and glazing bars. The building is a single storey with two windows. To the north, there are tall square rusticated gate-piers topped with mouldings and flat stone coping, with iron gates positioned between them (the overthrow is now missing). Flanking the gate-piers are iron railings that ramp up to the gates.
