Description

The Parish Church of St John is a Church of England building located in Piddinghoe. It features a 12th-century circular tower, making it one of three churches in the Ouse valley with this characteristic. The church includes a chancel with north and south chapels, a nave with aisles, and a west tower topped with an octagonal shingled spire. The north arcade of the nave and the tower date back to the 12th century, while the chancel, north aisle, and south arcade were constructed in the early 13th century. The south aisle and the north and south chapels were rebuilt between 1882 and 1884 during a restoration led by architect Philip Currey.
