Description
Blythe Cottages, also known as Halyards, Compass Cottage, and Creek Cottage, are a range of 18th-century cottages located in Piddinghoe. The cottages are two storeys high and have eight windows in total. They are faced with flints that have been painted, featuring red brick dressings and quoins, as well as a string course on No 1. The cottages have tiled roofs and include casement windows or sash windows with intact glazing bars. There are small modern bays on the ground floor. No 4, Blythe Cottage, is set back and has a lower elevation with two gables. It is believed that this building may have originally served as the school for Piddinghoe.
