Description

The Deer Tower, originally built in the 18th century, was initially designed as a verderer’s lookout or an "eyecatcher" to be viewed from Shillinglee mansion. It is now used as a dwelling. The tower comprises four round turrets, each two storeys high, with a semi-basement and surmounted by parapets. The exterior is now rendered with cement. The lower portion of the tower, situated to the north, is in red brick and appears to be a later addition. Sash windows with glazing bars are present throughout.
