Description
The Garden Gateway, wall, and outbuilding adjoining to the west of Cookes House is a structure likely built by Allan Cooke around 1610, coinciding with the addition of a similar porch to the house. The gateway features a malmstone four-centred pedestrian archway with a cornice above, topped by a pediment that includes ball finials at the apex and corners. To the north and south of the gateway, there is a stone wall that encloses the garden on the west side. The southern part of this wall adjoins an outbuilding made of stone rubble, which has a half-hipped tiled roof and a pointed archway that is now blocked and faced with flints.
