Description
Milland Old Church is the original parish church of Milland. It later served as the parish Sunday School and is marked as such on maps, but it is now disused and neglected. The church originally consisted of a chancel with a north transept and north porch, along with a nave that had a south porch. The chancel and nave date from the 16th century, while the transept and porches were added in the 19th century. The building is faced with roughcast. Originally, there were galleries accessed by outside steps, of which the south steps still survive, but the galleries themselves no longer exist. Inside, there is a piscina, an 18th-century pulpit, and the remains of some 18th-century box-pews, which have been vandalised and broken up. The current parish church was built in 1878.
