Description

The Village Pump in front of the Harting Church of England Primary School is a Grade II listed structure. The wall behind the pump has an inscription indicating that the well was sunk and the pump was erected by the School Board in 1863. However, the pump itself bears an inscription stating that it was erected in 1887 as part of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. The pump is a square stone structure topped with a pyramidal cap and a finial. It features an iron handle and tap, with a trough located below it.
