Description
Lumley Seat is a landmark originally built around 1770, located in Stansted Park. The structure features a façade facing the park with six columns, where the four central columns create a projecting portico topped with a pediment. There are niches with semi-domes positioned behind the columns, and the exterior is finished in stucco. Originally, there was a room in the Adam style with a dome above, but this was destroyed by fire in 1940. Behind the main structure, two cottages have been combined to form a single L-shaped house, constructed of red brick and stucco, with a slate roof.
