Description

This is a 17th-century house and two shops, located in Midhurst, West Street. The building was originally built in 1650, as indicated by a date on the front, and was later renovated around 1660, as evidenced by the initials 'I S M' and the date '1660' on a shallow bay window. The original timber-frame construction has been filled with painted brick. The first floor is jettied, meaning it projects outwards, and the building features two gables. One gable has decorative bargeboards and a pendant. A four-light window is situated in the larger gable. Modern shop windows are present on the ground floor. The roof is tiled, and casement windows are visible throughout. The house has two storeys, with an attic space within the gables. It has four windows in total.
