Description
The Egremont Almshouses are a group of almshouses built in 1836 by the third Lord Egremont. This simple building originally comprised three cottages and is a single storey structure featuring six windows. The exterior is constructed of ashlar stone and topped with a slate roof. The windows are casement style and have wooden shutters. There is a small board that notes the date of construction and the fact that they were erected by Lord Egremont. The almshouses are listed mainly for their historical significance.
