Description

Clayton Castle is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed building that has plaster infilling. The ground floor has been rebuilt in painted brick, while the first floor of the south front is covered in tile-bung. It features a half-hipped tiled roof and casement windows. The building has two storeys and contains four windows. Despite its name, it has never functioned as a castle.
