Description

Upperton is a house dating from the 15th to 16th century, originally built as a timber-framed 'Hall' house. It was altered in the 17th century when it was refaced with coursed stone, featuring red brick dressings and quoins. Inside, the east wall displays a date of 1634, although the house is believed to be of late medieval origin. The western block was raised in the 17th century, and there is a rain-water head dated 1650. The house has a tiled roof and features casement windows. It is two storeys high with four windows, including dormers on the right-hand section. A large inserted brick stack forms the lobby entry.
