The Parish Church of St James is a Grade II* listed parish church located in Heyshott. It served as a chapel of ease to Stedham until 1882. The nave dates back to the 13th century, while the rest of the church was rebuilt in the 19th century. The structure is made of rubble with tiled roofs, featuring a weatherboarded turret and a shingled spire. The church includes a chancel with a north vestry, a nave with a north aisle, a south porch, and a weatherboarded bell-turret at the west end of the eave, topped with a broached shingled spire.
