Description
Hillside is a house that dates from the late 16th century to the mid 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and has external painted stone and brick infilling, although much of it has been refaced with red brick and grey headers on the south side. The roof is covered with plain tiles, featuring a hip on the east side and a half-hip on the west, along with a central brick chimney stack. The west end wall is tile hung. The building displays square timber-framed panels with straight braces.
The front elevation, viewed from the east, includes a small window above and below towards the west end, a gabled 2-light attic window above a 3-light window on the ground floor, and a 6-panel door. There is also another 2-light gabled attic window above a ground floor casement window. At the east end, there is a lean-to structure made of stone and brick. Inside, the timber-framed structure with straight braces is visible.
