Description
Treyford Manor is a house comprising a north wing of medieval origin, largely refaced, and an east wing constructed in 1621 by William Aylwin, bearing his initials and this date. A symmetrical, late 17th-century west wing was added to the front. The house is faced with clunch stone and has red brick dressings and quoins. A coved eaves cornice runs along the top of the building, and the roof is tiled. The tall, narrow sash windows retain their original glazing bars and are set within brick architraves, with panelled aprons beneath. The central doorway features red brick pilasters, a large fanlight, and a segmental pediment. A first-floor window above the doorway has a moulded architrave flanked by voluted consoles. The west wing has two storeys and an attic, with five windows and two gabled dormers. Inside, a good late 17th-century staircase remains.
