Description
St Nicholas Church Gateway is a mid-19th century structure located on the north side of London Road. It is built from dressed and knapped flint, with Pulborough stone used for the dressings, coping, and quoins. The gateway features three pointed arched openings, each surrounded by roll moulding. At either end, there are octagonal piers adorned with Pulborough stone flushwork. The coping is stepped towards the center. The gateway is completed by elaborate iron gates that have a band of trefoils across the center and gabled spirelets as finials.
