Description

The Burnt House dates to the 18th century, though it incorporates parts of a larger house, Place House, which was destroyed by fire in 1765. It is a two-storey and attic building with a high base of cellars, presenting a three-window facade. A dormer window is visible in the roof. The exterior is constructed of red brick with alternating grey brick headers. A cornice runs along the eaves, and the roof is tiled and hipped. The windows are casements, with those on the first floor being round-headed. A single blind, round-headed arch rises through both the ground and first floors.
