Description
Overstones Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from coursed rubble gritstone, featuring projecting quoins, coped gables, and a boldly projecting moulded eaves cornice. The end ridge stacks are made of ashlar at the east end. The roof is stone slated and the building has a double pile plan.
On the south elevation, the farmhouse has two storeys and two bays, with 3-light flush mullioned windows that have projecting surrounds. The heads of these windows are linked by two continuous flat band courses. The windows have 20th-century joinery. The central doorway features a moulded stone surround with a central keystone, a pulvinated frieze, and console brackets that support a substantial moulded hood. The door is from the 20th century.
Both the east and north elevations include transomed stair windows set in flush stone frames.
