Description
Knob Hall is a house dating from the mid-17th century, which was restored in 1925. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with sandstone dressings, featuring plain and fishscale tiled roofs. The gables are stone-coped with moulded kneelers and ball finials, and there are two central brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has flush quoins, following a double pile plan.
The west elevation has three bays, with a central doorway that has a chamfered surround and a massive lintel with a dripstone. The doorway features a 20th-century part glazed door, flanked by two-light recessed chamfer mullion windows with dripmoulds on each side. Above, there are two similar windows and a single light central window, all with dripmoulds. The twin-gabled south elevation includes two three-light recessed chamfer mullion windows on the ground, first, and second floors, all with dripmoulds. There is also a doorway on the north side that is dated 1925.
