Description
Snitterton Hall is a late 16th-century Elizabethan small mansion that remains in pristine condition. The building is constructed of ashlar and features two storeys and attics, with an E-shaped plan. The central block is embattled and includes two 4-light and one 12-light mullioned transomed windows. The entrance porch is of early Renaissance design, featuring Ionic fluted shafts that flank a 4-centred arch, supporting a moulded cornice with an enriched panel. The advanced gabled wings on either side have similar fenestration, including an 8-light window in each gable. The building is adorned with moulded bands overall, a 18th-century rainwater head, and is topped with old stone tiles. Inside, there is a stone 4-centred arched fireplace and some restored panelling.
