Description

The Roman altar, dating from the 2nd or 3rd century, is located approximately 20 yards south of Holystone Grange. Made of sandstone, it has been repurposed as a garden ornament. The north side features an inscription, while relief figures are present on the east and north sides. The upper section of the altar has panelled sides.
