Description

A group of three headstones located approximately 10 yards south of the Church of St. Cuthbert in Elsdon.

The first headstone is for Henry Hall, dated 1791, made of sandstone featuring a moulded and shaped top with an angel's head and wings, along with well-executed lettering.

The second headstone commemorates Antoney Alderson, dated 1735, and has a scrolled pedimented top adorned with a primitive angel and wings, supported by Ionic pilasters.

The third headstone is for William and Ann Hall, dated 1807, which also has a scrolled pedimented top with enriched moulded edges and an angel flanked by palmettes within foliage frames.
